Hi as a carer for my wife. We are both concerned about Covid 19 and visiting hospital for monthly blood tests and going for the cancer treatment my wife has every month.

Does anyone else have the same concerns?

Sorry if it is short but I am sure there are lot of us carers out there with concerns for people with suppressed immune systems.

  • Hi , I think most of us with 'underlying health conditions' wouldn't want to get the virus, but it's unlikely that anyone who had it would be treated openly in hospital. All hospitals have sanitising hand gel and using that more frequently is probably a good idea. I was advised by our practice nurse to use wipes even on toilet door handles and flush handles in public areas where there might be concern. I hope this helps; if you have any more concerns please call the helpline on 0808 808 0000 and speak to one of our experts.
