My partner sees an oncologist on Friday. It is four weeks since her mastectomy and she has healed real,y well. Latest scans were all good, no spread at all but still both treatments are planned. She is terrified of the chemo, dreads feeling terrible. I know everyone responds differently but in advance of course you don’t know. Having never had it of course I find it hard to be reassuring. Also, having come off HRT suddenly her horm9nes are everywhere and haywire and affecting her mood greatly. She will have a lifetime of tamoxifen which she is told will make it all worse. Please can anyone advise about how to best react re both chemo and the haywire hormones...? And is there ANYTHING that will help the latter especially. I have tried to say the chemo may not be as bad as she fears but unfortunately she has only heard the horror stories, which isn’t helpful. Thanks everyone.
