Hello, my husband was admitted to hospital three weeks ago with pain in his side. Three days later we were told he had cancer of the gullet which had spread to his liver. Operation not on the table. Has since seen specialist in Chemotherapy which has been agreed. The chemo has not started yet but my husband is sleeping all the time, is this what usually happens.
Hi and welcome to the community though always tinged with a little sadness to see another join.
My wife's cancer is quite different but there certainly have been times when she has slept a lot. Is he on any painkillers? they can often cause drowsiness. My wife had two different lots of chemotherapy - both were a lot easier than we might have thought and the really good news is that the second lot managed to render her cancer stable and we have been in that happy state for some years now - living with cancer.
If you drop by Oesophageal cancer forum you will be able to find people with real experience of dealing with this kind of cancer.
<<hugs>>
