  • OK, so this is how its going to be
Nearly a week after (almost) diagnoses-this is another world.

Ok-so here I am, on this site, blogging about stuff that a week ago I had no idea about. But first a little background history....

Im 38, mother to three kids,One sadly born sleeping at 19 weeks pregnant.

I'm an only child, with slight anxiety issues, partner to a wonderful man for 16 years who suffers with his own issues of Aspergers syndrome, as does eldest son,

Being an only child, I was always the apple of my dads eye, this was compounded 38 years and 4 months ago when i was born, during...

  • I need to get it out
This is the first day of the rest of my life

In my ignorance I thought it would be a good idea to get someone to talk to my husband about how they had got over their RT and got on with their life. How wrong could I have been. He and his wife came over and - as if we weren't scared enough - they have made us so bad. I have been doing quite well but even I have a "hurt" between my ribs now and as for my dear sweet sensitive husband... he says he can't go through it now and I have NO idea what to say to him. Where do we go from here?...

    Radiotherapy!

    Hi Everyone

My mum went for a spine scan last Tuesday. Results came back yesterday....

They have found a mass in the soft tissues in her shoulder, this is obviously what has been causing her so much pain.

They have said she can have radiotherapy and booked her in for a consultation in December. We are happy they can finally give her something however we are all still a little apprehensive, scared and nervous as we do not know what to expect as we have always been told there is no treatment.

    Can anyone...

  • A Brand New Me
    The perfect seduction music

A few posts back I told you about D and the problems he was having with his love life.  He’s making another appearance today because sadly he’s still having difficulties.  I’ve had an email from him with a suggested topic for the blog.  D wants to know what the best seduction music is.  He tells me that he’s not a “pour the wine and pounce” type of guy.  He wants some sophisticated music to create the right sort of mood.  He agrees that the wrong music can definitely...

  • Does it ever get easier?
    Haven't posted in months...

What a couple of months it has been.. with happy and sad memories.

On October 16th we were called to Birmingham to see my Grandad who had taken a turn for the worst. On 17th oct, my Grandad sadly passed away.

We then celebrated my brothers 21st birthday, I went away for a few days to get away from everything, which was much needed.

Awaiting my mothers CT scan results to see if she was okay to continue treatment, we celebrated my nans 80th birthday.

Then it was the funeral and in the same week...

  • bone density scan / joint pain meds ? or. arthiritis
Bone density scan /join pain / Arthiritis?

Still on Anatrozone , been on it 16 months. My onc has temp stopped the Arimidex injections to see if i have now entered a natural menapause. Had bone sensity scan - no die injected? 16 mths ago. I have had painful joints throughout but my hands cramp up and i feel aches in every little bone , especially at night. My gp just says its side effects but i wonder if its nothing to do with meds and if its arthiritis. Will this show up on my bone density scan in Jan 2014

  • Dear Husband, I will be there for you, every step of the way, right by your side.
    Frustrated

I'm just not happy with hubby's breathing. My mind is going into overdrive and I'm convinced that the cancer has spread. I'm trying to keep a lid on things but why does everything take so damn long. The week before his neck dissection I noticed he was a little short of breath, not all the time, just now and again. I mentioned it to him and he hadn't  noticed (now there is a surprise!) Why are men so hopeless at being body aware? I wonder if it's because they don't have cycles and...

  • Getting my head around it
    Update 10 November 2013

Pain in my pelvic secondaries with fractures became unbearable and so I tried to get help via my GP on Thursday last, before the weekend shutdown.  My pain control had been based on ibuprofen full doses, with paracetamol.  This had been adequate until about two weeks ago. I phoned McMillan Helpline to find out what to do.  They listened to my story, took my personal details and advised me to ask my GP to refer me for palliative care services as soon as possible.

The GP surgery put me in a telephone...
