The perfect seduction music

2 minute read time.

A few posts back I told you about D and the problems he was having with his love life.  He’s making another appearance today because sadly he’s still having difficulties.  I’ve had an email from him with a suggested topic for the blog.  D wants to know what the best seduction music is.  He tells me that he’s not a “pour the wine and pounce” type of guy.  He wants some sophisticated music to create the right sort of mood.  He agrees that the wrong music can definitely spoil a special moment, he knows I will understand because of my recent comments about Donny Osmond and “Puppy Love”.  So D wants me to think back and recommend those sort of tracks that made car windows steam up.

Sorry D, I don’t quite understand what you mean.  I have led a very quiet and sheltered life.  I know nothing at all about seduction and I have certainly never spent any time in stationary cars!  I am deeply offended that anyone might think otherwise.  D then goes on to talk about a radio show many years ago.  For a whole hour on a Friday and Saturday night they played music especially chosen for a long slow drive back from a night out. The sort of journey that might take a detour down a dark country lane.  D wishes he could remember some of the songs.

Obviously I never listened to this show but I can remember people talking about it.  Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, George Benson, The Commodores and Barry White were heavily featured.  There was a slot called the one before midnight and favourites for this were “Love won’t let me wait” by Major Harris, “Heaven in the afternoon” by Lew Kirton, “When you get right down to it” by The Delfonics, and “Loves holiday” by Earth Wind and Fire.

However I feel unable to recommend any of this music to D.  Firstly it’s going to be ineffective if the lady in question doesn’t like soul music.  Plus I think that a lot of the lyrics have a very clear statement of intent which could hardly be described as subtle.  But most importantly I have to say it’s my opinion that if you don’t know the sort of music that a lady appreciates, then you don’t know her well enough for inappropriate behaviour !

So sorry D, there are no recommendations from me.  Unless anyone reading this wants to take pity on you and help you out.
