My mum has been diagnosed with lung cancer 3 months ago. Dr said tumor was as big as her heart. That sounds huge but not sure how this compares. I keep thinking she has a balloon inside her that is getting bigger daily, does it just burst and infect her whole body
Original plan , before Xmas, was to remove part or all of her right lung, TBD once she was on the table but she was in hospital for 4 weeks and ultimately the surgeon spoke to me and dad and said surgery was no longer an option as she...
Sorry we've been a bit lax. Jim's wife phoned us on Friday and left a message to say that Jim was still in hopsital but improving. Then, tonight, as we were walking home Jim text'd us from the hospital so we rang him straight back. He sounds quite chirpy but a bit tired but I guess thats to be expected. After all he is of a good age to go through such a radical operation. Anyway, he has had a couple of wee problems but they have been sorted out for him and he is obviously improving. It...

So it's been just over a wek since I finished my radiotherapy. What's been happening? Well, I'm still tired, but not as bad as I was. Skin did get sore, but so much better now.
Had a call from my consultant yesterday, I'm going to Birmingham on Wednesday to drink some contrast dye, to then go back the next day to have a scan on my kidney to check on that tumour, in readiness for my operation. Never had to drink the dye before (always had an injection before) and never the day before...
My motivation has legged it! I cannot be bothered at the moment to do anything and I don't understand if it's physical or pyschological. I have had a huge blast of radio last Monday on my spine (5 days worth in one hit) and the week before chemo, so I have been exhausted but feel I should be making the best of my life while I am able. I have always been an 'on the go' person, busy, living life to the full and extremely motivated but now I just can't be asked! I hope I'm not sinking into a depression...
