Post 541: A dreaded visit is the very opposite, feel the love.
All day I sat and ate while my Darling worked, and the shower later on was preceded by a legendary weigh-in that puts me into startling new territory.
12st 5lbs of raw British Meat ha ha!
With all I’ve done to reach 254 completed series of Kdramas mainly while eating an it’s no surprise to see that I’ve put back on every pound lost over the summer and to be honest I’m not content about it, but the stone and a half I lost; is back in my belly.
Ha ha.
I keep saying to myself that it’s temporary and if I stopped eating the cupboards empty, I would be easily able to consume less and the love in those shelves when gone will mean good news for my body.
12st is high enough, but for now I’m a bigger Mr U than usual, that can’t be bad.
So here is the most wonderful thing that happened today and I love this story but I’m still surprised.
The day was going in its usual way. I was cleaning uhp my own mess i ku n the kitchen any. While cleaning the Kettle popped and I made my favourite drink. It’s a morning treat but not the stressed cuppa I used to have back in the 90’s which you could stand up a spoon in it was so very strong. The cafeteria was filled twice a day and the 12hr shifts flew by incredibly easily.
Looking back we thought it very kind that the boss was so generous, but the reality was that he just wanted us to be on our toes for the longest time so a pick me up was needed; and it worked very well.
Turning back towards today’s visit, we arrived with yet more food. Just what was needed, not.
But it wasn’t a gift for my consumption. That’s the only problem I have right now, I think all food is my food.
Tapping quietly on the door we expected to have to knock again louder but no, my goodest friend and family were eagle-eared and the door opened with my pal first in line for a greeting and the others behind him. My Darling first followed by me struggled in while coping with the loveliest welcome.
It was all chatter as you could imagine and the healthy hugs of gentle persuasion were adorable. The memo got through about me not needing a squashy hug. Magic. I couldn’t have been more happy.
Also, going on from the hugs, we were all pushed to the far end of their home where the dinning table and upright chairs were, and a shout from someone ushered a cushion for me to sit on fo my comfort. Wow. Double wow.
We all sat and the chatter never stopped.
Ian (my goodest pal) and I go back years to the big school and have been friends ever since without any breakages, if you know what I mean.
His Darling got on the Dominos app on her phone (other pizza places are available) and quizzed us for a choice of 14 inchers and ordered what she thought best. Meanwhile I was pleased to see and chat to ‘Becks’ my little god daughter that now fully grown, who’s now in her own home with her own feller and while he played amateur football (injuring himself on his quads apparently). The urgency of the injury steadily climbed till there was nothing else for it be she was off to a local A & E just to be on the safe side. Good-bye hugs saw her off and not long after a great conversation about tattoos and KDramas we had to go home ourselves. Not before a round of lovely hugs.
I can’t believe how young Zander their second child and my charming godchild has grown into a gent. Loved chatting with him and he was looking out for me all afternoon like a protector of old. Just brilliant.
We went with a too low estimate of our friend’s welcome and left with a warm feeling in our hearts.
Soon, at Christmas, we’ll see them at our home for a return match.
It’ll be really nice to see them and treat them to the same hospitality they showed us.
It’s like a new chapter has opened, and what a great chapter this will be.
Roll on Christmas. We love the season of giving presents and this year it’s with a new family member in the shape of a baby. Very Christmas-like ha, ha. We can’t wait.
I put the tv on while my Darling prepared her overnight oats and pic-nic for tomorrow at work meanwhile I was close to falling asleep in front of a chat bot and the cat. I had taken a dose of oramorph due to the pain that I was in after a 4hrs in the upright chair. My darling and our hosts thought it wonderful, so did I too, then, but it’s given rise to flare-up now.
But that was such a nice surprise having a pizza supper with them.
Soon I was upstairs being chased there by a forceful but loving partner, Herself.
She was after getting me in bed or she’ll be worrying that I’m asleep downstairs and might fall out the chair.
It’s unlikely but it’s always possible, safety first.
Oh! when will this baby come?
When it’s good and ready…
I’m looking forward to the babies father coming tomorrow for a fur-baby visit. I’ll turn it into a garden clear up as well.
I’m looking at the garden as a nightmare I can’t keep rather than an easy place to enjoy and work in. But I can’t do anything in the shed either. Sad days for me, but life moves on.
I’m also in the inky seat on Tuesday so that’ll be an experience. The first of many sessions for my right arm sleeve.
I can’t believe I’m doing such a thing but I can’t wait to see it started.
