    Hi Flossy

I can't give you any advice about bladder cancer, but just wanted to welcome you to our club! I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Take a look in the bladder cancer group by clicking on groups (lefthand side of the screen) and selecting bladder cancer.

You will find this site a great source of help, support and even laughter. I was certainly glad I found it when I was diagnosed last year.

Good luck with your surgery and further treatment and don't forget to let us know how you are getting on.

    Hi Flossy

Welcome to the club! I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in July last year and am now 7 months post operation and all going well so far.

I've written a fairly comprehensive blog on here (just done my 100th edition the other day!) so please read my story if you want or drop me an email and I will help in anyway I can

    All the best

    Andrew

My husband, Mike on the Bike, had the same op just over a year ago and is on top form.  He says its the best he's been in years and he is looking forward to putting Andrewx2's lights out after he told me to slap Mike for him. LOL !!!  Anything you want to ask, Andrew is your man, although we'll always be around if you need help, only not so often.

Only pre-op advice I can give is do what Mike did, lots of exercise and a high protein diet to aid recovery.  Get fit, not fat.

Post op advice: don't be in too much of a hurry to get better.  Take things a bit easy but if you can do some walking around the ward it will help get things going.  Oh yeah,  Mike says "not all farts are dry"  LOL !

    Hi Flossy,

Sorry to be so late getting back to you but I am a rare visitor to this site now.  Its best to send a message.  Mike didn't have to wait more than a few days for his chemo to start and could choose what date for his op. He has BUPA cover so waiting wasn't an issue.  Hope David is doing OK.
