Blogging can be a great way to journal your experiences and share with others. Why not create your own cancer journey blog, or have a read of other blogs created by our members?

Well, the deed has been done and I am home again.
Most of the hospital time was spent waiting, including an extra hour when I was bumped in favour of an emergency surgery. No argument with that!
The operation itself did only take about half an hour and I am currently in no pain whatsoever. The surgeon told me he would be administering two types of local anaesthetic, one which would last one to two hours and another which would last six to eight hours.
I had a nurse with me the whole time and we...
Got an email back from Macmillans yesterday, thanking my family for their efforts in raising over £9000 for Macmillans at our fun day last year. This was done in recognition for the support given to me during my fight with Stomach Cancer. And in response, I have fought back hard to get here today and prove my efforts worthwhile for all those who stood by me, including my family and friends who supported the above event. Furthermore, the experience encouraged me to write a story about it all and seeing...
Still trying to set up blog post - please bear with me!
Well yesterday my issues were with the generation gap as it proved a difficult day for bridging the generation gap after our teenager son seemed to turn into a youthful "MR Mildrew" and complained about how "stupid" the world was or how unfair the establishment was with him. I swear that wars have been started with less passion than he had yesterday! And it was utterly frustrating that no matter what, I couldn't get through to him that it could be his perception that was wrong. Hopefully it was a...
I have to head to bed now. I have a Scan for IVF tomorrow, followed by another MRI. The MRI is the latest step in trying to qualify for the trachelectomy.
I will continue tomorrow with more info on the planned next steps.
The reason I have time now to sit around and write blogs, is because I have chosen to delay treatment while I go through a cycle of IVF. It's a small gamble, and I wanted to take what may be my last chance to do this.
The goal of this is to hopefully get a few eggs, fertilize them, and then freeze the embryos created - for use somehow in the future.
FYI. Eggs themselves can't be frozen. Or rather, the success rates are really really low. Embryos can be frozen with a pretty high success rate...
Some of the more attentive of you may have noticed that I don't yet have children.
Despite rumours of screaming, and no sleep, and tantrums in shopping centres, for some reason I still seem interested in them! So far in life the fertility gods have not been that helpful, and that was before they decided to add cancer to the mix.
As you can probably imagine, cervical cancer is quite close to some pretty important baby making machinery. Boys - you may want to look away now... in fact, you...
Hi all,
As vaguely promised, this is a the start of a blog to let you know where I am with my treatment.
I'll be honest that the whole thing still feels like a bit of a story. I meet lots of doctors, and they all look very serious, and tell me I have to do more and more tests, but it still hasn't really sunk in I think.
It'll help me a bit to write it down, but feel free to skim through bits I've probably already told lots of you.
The story so far:
I went for a Pap smear in November...
