New to the site following recent diagnosis of Breast Cancer and treatment with surgery, awaiting results
I was wondering if there was anyone out there newly diagnosed with Breast Cancer?
My blog today is a poem which I've been working on for some days (and it's still not finished - the ending is particularly weak). Now, I haven't written any poetry for nearly fifty years, and it's taking me a while to find my voice. I didn't trust myself to free verse - need a bit of structure but not too much - so I chose blank verse for this. It's about the amazing spring we've had and all the wonderful wild flowers, and also about being glad that I'm still here to see them....
I have just been reading the comment's from Cruton and Jenny. thank you lady's something I never expected. regarding the advert's. I feel that they are detrimental to people who are suffering from cancer. all I want to do Is forget the last seven month's and try to regain at least some of my life. I used to practice yoga and did so for five year's. I love to read. I never read anything while going through the treatment's. I find that whenever I visit the Macmillan web site I get depressed. reading all those stories. especially the " I've just been diagnosed" entry's. It set's me off thinking about my own Illness. I have Bladder cancer. or rather had. I have just finished six week's of radio therapy. I still have trouble urinating. It's slow and the night's are spent visiting the toilet on average 7 or 8 time's so I get little sleep. In myself I feel fine. everyone tell's me how well I look. and I try to avoid thinking...
Today is his 59th birthday. Most likely his last.
We had our three sons and a dear friend around the table to help celebrate the day.
Friends had provided all the feast, the trimmings, the cake and a whole lot of goodwill.

My husband has recently been diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer. this was picked up during his two yearly scan because he has a condition called A Barretts's Oesophagus. In March of this year, they took four biopsies and one was found to be suspicious, which led to other tests to find out more. He then had a P.E.T. scan, an Endoscopic Ultrasound and Keyhole surgery. He has a T2 tumour in the Oesophagus. He also has Parkinson's disease and Chronic arthritis. These last two conditions, according...
I had my first chemotherapy session towards the end of Oct 2012 and because it was my first one my mum was able to come with me. We went to the Beatson together and I signed into say I was there. When the nurse came to speak with us to go through she spoke to my mum and we had to have that awkward moment when we said it was actually me getting the treatment. I have to say this situation occurred numerous times throughout my treatment, but we just laughed it off.

He's doing really well. He feels like complete and utter sh*t but in his own quiet way he has accepted the inevitable. No anger, no regrets, no bitterness. He tells me twenty times a day that he loves me and I love him. He holds my hand whilst I cry, he advises me on my bleak and miserable future without him.
No topic has been off limits. He's so brave. We've sorted general funeral stuff out. We've made decisions about this and that. He doesn't want to die at home because it will upset the dogs...
