    Two steps backwards

My husband went for a blood test on Monday, he had a slight fall in the morning as his back was giving him such pain that he was collapsing as he walked. His consultant refused to let him go home as he couldn't walk, so he was put in a wheel chair and there he stayed until about 6.

He is sedated and on anti-biotics as he contracted a chest infection even though he didn't go into any shops on Saturday.  I now realise how  easy it is going to be for him to get any form of infection and even more...

    I've refused chemo...

Hi everyone !, Not used to this site yet and never know where to write to....so here goes it gets to someone who can understand ...hopefully.

Diagnosed ayear ago with tumour in my colon. Had right hemi colectomy almost 12 mths ago, followed by discussions re suggested 6mth chemo course which I felt was not worth all the hassle, especially as 17 of 29 lymph nodes were positive. I still feel the same way 12 mths later and have had an enjoyable summer; which I wouldn't have had if I'd agreed to chemo...

    that piano conclusion
The piano had eventually to go back down the staircase, though mother had complicated things a bit by jamming the corner of the piano into the wall so it would not slide down when she let go of it.

Unfortunately her eagerness to belt my brothers backside while he was caught trying to scramble over it had driven this corner of the piano into the plaster of the staircase wall and when she lost her temper with it and gave it a mighty heave the whole of the staircase plaster fell off with it.

    the piano in the stairwell!!.
My mother had few bad habits, but one of her pleasures was to visit the local saleroom

Here she would buy all sorts of objects large and small, there didn’t seem to be any logic in her choice but we were always assured when the horse drawn wagon arrived outside the house that this latest load of acquisitions was much better and in a much better condition than the last lot

Her treasures were always delivered by horse drawn wagon, driven by a man called Jack who was almost as big as his...

  • Myeloma, Let's Talk!
    Hello!

Hello Multiple Myeloma Members!  I'm still getting myself used to this new site and all its quirks, good and bad.  I have enabled some new features on the Myeloma, Let's Talk! Group site.  You can now blog here directly if you would like.  I have also made a few of the "old timers" Managers, like on our old group site, so that I'm not the only one in charge of the group and approving membership.  I noticed the other day, someone asked to join and when I looked at their profile, there...

    cyber slap time then ...lol

I have taken a drive down Paranoia Street and found a nice big parking space on Nervous Avenue, results from my lumpectomy are due tomorrow and I can feel that horrible dread I felt last week waiting for the biopsy results. It hasnt helped that I saw a few of my notes on computer screen and one subject was do not delay diagnosis (what is that all about) but that note wa made before I had my op so trying not to run too far up neurosis road with that one.

Thought it would be a good idea to try and...

    High Dose Chemo Sucks !

    Hi All

Sorry been so long since i updated with what was happening.

But this litle story will explain ..

After having the usual 6 rounds of R-Chop for Non Hodgkins Lymphoma part of my tumour was still there in my chest, so approx four weeks ago i was admitted to hospital to have a week long high dose chemotherapy session called R-ICE.

After having the break from all the chemo i had i was just starting to feel a bit "normal" again until i was admitted!

Something set me off and i could...
