    Herceptrin

Can anyone give me there experiences of Herceptrin.  Have had 3 sessions of FEC and 2 out of 3 Docetaxol(Taxotere) to which I have not responded very well.  After the third FEC treatment went neutrapenic and being in the middle of the second of Docetaxol my blood pressure has dropped extremely low.  Overall this chemo business has knocked my sideways.  I am now questioning the side effects of Herceptrin and would appreciate feedback on how people have coped

    BACK HOME :)

Mastectomy operation over and drains out and am back home..... so nice to be around your loved ones again.

Op was ok, nothing like I thought it would be.  Am keeping up with my exercises and have quite a lot of movement back in my arm, just my shoulder is still a bit stiff.  No pain at all at any time throughout the op!  Was sooooo surprised.  If arm aches, just take Paracetamol and it sorts it out..

Am back at the hospital on 8 April, when hopefully I will get my results of the lymph nodes biopsy...

And also to everyone experiencing new phases in this illness and needing extra support my thoughts are with you and also to those no longer with us and their families.

All is quiet on the cancer front really, no scans due until May time but I have been...

    update

Today mum had her appointment with the surgeon, thankfully they are going to operate to take away the breast in round two weeks.

Such a relief to know its not her time yet and that we have more time with her, it will not cure it but at least something is being done about it.

She is a different person now, alot happier that it can be taken away, although it is still alot to deal with having it removed, she doesnt seem to mind much, as long as it is taken away.

just hoping next time round it wont...

  • My Melanoma Radiotherapy Diary
Results from Radiotherapy..And the next step..

Hi again.  So finished Radiotherapy on March 15th, about 16 days ago.  Had my scan last week (with so much dye I must have glowed!!).  Had the results today and a chat with my surgeon.....

    IT'S WORKED!!!!!

The tumour under my breastbone, that had the radiotherapy has shrunk significantly.  So it shows that my tumours, in the future should respond to radiotherapy, if they are somewhere where they can't operate.  Yippee.  Good news.

Then it gets better. The tumour by my kidney hasn't grown at...

    Over the rainbow ....

…..don’t panic!! I’m not about to burst into song, I promise. That would be far too cruel of me.

Aren’t rainbows the most beautiful, awesome natural creations? I still see them through the eyes of a child and feel all tingly and amazed whenever I spy one. I’ve no idea if my reaction is because of their magnificent yet simple colours, a fascination with the power of nature or a wish to hold on to innocent childhood fantasies of Leprechauns leaving crocks of gold at their ends...
