    Wait is over
Went back to the hospital today, the good news is I don't have BC. What I do have is a radial scar, I have an appointment with a specialist on Christmas Eve. Interesting reading on radial scars, can be caused by inflammation so still wondering if my theory could be correct. Read that some can just go away, like a bruise? Others can harbour hide cancerous cells so fully expecting to be offered an operation at the consultation. Radial scars can lead to an increased risk of BC so I need to address...

    It's over

The cancer's gone...and with it, it took my lovely John.  He went only five days after my last post.

There are good days and bad days, since last Thursday.  It's all so fresh still.  Funeral doesn't happen for over a week.

I'm finding it very difficult to talk about things.  Everyone in his family is so supportive and kind to me and the children.  One of his brothers and his wife, and one of his odlest & dearest friends, most especially.  But what I'm finding so hard is that they...

    Second guessing
I get my results tomorrow. My brother is coming to the hospital with me, he was so good about it when I told him what was going on. After the biopsy I was very shaken up but as the days go by, my previous positive attitude has returned. My research has taken me to a condition known as fat necrosis. One of the nurses mentioned that the tissue could be scar tissue and I guess this is where some of the 7 of the 8 cases of non BC at abnormal mammogram fall. Fat necrosis is caused by trauma, is benign...

  • Triple Negative grade 3 Breast Cancer - my journey
    Monday 3rd December
I'm feeling ok considering what's been pumped into me! I still feel nauseas in the night and on waking, but I'm fine once I start taking the anti sickness tablets in the day. The steroids make me feel restless, which is not a good combination when I feel so tired!!! My middle daughter came to stay yesterday for a few days, which is wonderful. It's great having the lovely company, but having my meals cooked for me and the washing up done is a godsend. I live alone and am fiercely independent, but...

    Waiting game
I thought I'd start a blog to try to calm my mind. So many questions and 'what if scenarios' and absolutely nothing I can do besides wait. I am trying not to worry at the present time or worry other people so I am trying to keep it quiet till I know more. There is a 7 in 8 chance the results will be ok but I still go cold thinking about it. I'd be grateful for any advice, links to read, or comments. Really respect Macmillan for the work they do and how they helped my mum when she needed...

Things to be thankful for .....

Bit of a difficult day yesterday. Lots of driving and very tired. Went to local shop and managed to scrape the side of someone's car as I pulled out of car park. Man was very kind but it was a stupid thing for me to do and wouldn't have happened if I'd been in a different place in my head.

Woke this morning feeling very down. It's that time of year already. I hate it. Am trying to be positive and drive myself forward but it is SOOOOOO...... exhausting.

Then I was listening to the...

  • Triple Negative grade 3 Breast Cancer - my journey
    Saturday 1st December
It's been a tiring and eventful few days since my last post. On Thursday, I had my PICC line fitted. As a real needle phobic, myself and my daughter were amazed at how calm I stayed throughout the whole procedure! I am convinced that the hypnotherapy session I had on Monday afternoon was the reason for this. Once you've had the local anesthetic injection into the arm, you don't really feel anything. Mine went into position straight away. I had mine inserted in the inside upper arm. I was given a...

    Consultant.

After yesterdays appointment I am still upset and annoyed.

Two months ago we were told I had stage 1 Hodgkins Lymphoma, but we now find it's stage 2. This means what was going to be two to three rounds of Chemo has changed to three to four. I know compared to others its not much but its an extra month or two.

They have known this for ages just not passed the information onto us, what a bloody joke......

My December Chemo is booked for 10th & 24th, I will then have a CT and PET scan early...

    Wednesday 28th November, 2012
Today is a much needed day of rest and I will not be changing out of my PJ's! It's also been a belated opportunity to create my blog!! I've been tying up a few loose ends this week, via emails and telephone calls, prior to the start of my treatment. I will also do an online shop today. I don't know how my appetite will be affected, but I will get some nice things in. My middle daughter is coming on the train to stay for a few days on Sunday and she will be cooking and fussing over me. My youngest...
