    My first course done...

Hi all, well I went along on Wednesday.  Pretty terrified actually due to the famous side effects, and it has been 6 weeks since I had a cannula in me!  They are probably going to use a PICC line as it's my hospital's policy to use these as much as poss to protect the veins, so I've got that to look forward to!

The process itself was easy, took less than an hour once I'd done the wait bit (3 hours).  I came in Tuesday for the initial chat and to give some blood, so that probably made...

    At peace

    My son, my darling boy,

Want to hold you in my arms,

Feel the warmth of your skin,

    The softness of your hair,

    Shelter you from harm,

    Ive cried a million tears,

But they can never heal this pain,

What i'd give to see the light of life,

    Shine on your face again.

Rest in peace my darling boy, Joel Lawrence 24/7/90 - 25/03/10

Mike On The Bike + 1 year on

    Hello one and all,

Some of you might remember my hubby Mike, some of you may not.  Whatever, he is a survivor, OFFICIALLY!   He went to see the surgeon today to get his check results 1 year after his op.  This is a post he placed on a different Cancer Website he subscribes to:

Well, just got back from Gatwick Park Hospital.

The surgeon himself came out to the waiting area, to call us in to his consulting room this afternoon.  Elaine always comes with me to these bashes, as she remembers to ask the...

Five months after the last treatment.

I have Endometrium Cancer,  Papillary Serous with clear cells Grade 111C, or should I say I was diagnosed with it, had the op, the chemo treatments, the radio therapy (two cycles of it) and have already had one 'all clear' (from the first scan).

In a few weeks I'll be having my second scan - and hope and presume I'll be OK.

I'm feeling very well. And it feels extraordinary. (?)

And this is why I'm writing.  When I was living the days of chemo and then again all those days...

    AMSTERDAM AND SNOWDONIA MARATHON

I will be taking part in the Amsterdam marathon on october 17th and the Snodonia marathon in the same month. I have decided to get involved and to make fundraising for Macmillan a priority in life after my mothers death from this disease this month.

I think after recent events the way i think and feel will change forever and i will be doing this for the rest of my life. I have never felt so sorry for someone who also happened to be my mother.

Im not sure yet as i am still fairly new to this site...

    Music Music

Music has really helped me through some of the tougher days.

One of the things I have done is recorded some songs for my mum and my kids - not wishing to sound doomy and gloomy but I always figured it would be something for them to remember me by.... not that I'm planning to shuffle off any time soon!

Anyway - last time I recorded a song that I want played at my funeral.  It made for quite an emotional recording session but I'm glad I did it.

I thought some of you might be interested to...
