AMSTERDAM AND SNOWDONIA MARATHON

Less than one minute read time.

I will be taking part in the Amsterdam marathon on october 17th and the Snodonia marathon in the same month. I have decided to get involved and to make fundraising for Macmillan a priority in life after my mothers death from this disease this month.

I think after recent events the way i think and feel will change forever and i will be doing this for the rest of my life. I have never felt so sorry for someone who also happened to be my mother.

Im not sure yet as i am still fairly new to this site if this is the right way to go about fundraising/asking strangers for money

But i would be most gratefull of any donations

Thanks Russell           http://www.justgiving.com/russell-mcnee0

    Hi Russell,

I am in a simlar position regarding raising awarness of my fund raising efforts in aid of Macmillan.

You should contact your local Macmillan office or contact Alice Sanders in Macmillan HQ (I can give you email and phone numbers) so that they can help you as well.

Other than using social networking sites (facebook, myspace etc) you should set up a traiing blog and keep it updated on a weekly or monthly basis.

Your local MP should also be able to do something for you and i would suggest contacting your local media (papers/radio) and hopefully people will get behind you.

You are welcome to look at my blog, it is not great but it works for me. http://mrkeeno.wordpress.com

Best of luck with the two races and the training before hand. My last piece of advice - get some decent running socks and shoes.

    Best wishes
