I’ve taken a huge step on my recovery. I’m now back at work!
Before my sicknote ran out I paid a visit to work. I was so pleased I did. The welcome I received was overwhelming. People are so kind welcoming me back and commenting on how well I looked. I never realised how much I had missed it.
I had a telephone interview with an occupational health consultant who asked me a variety of questions about how I was feeling, what I felt could help me back at work and any issues and concerns...
I have my results meeting tomorrow afternoon. I am nervous and praying for good news. However, thanks to the support of this community and the Fight Bladder Cancer Facebook page - link below, I feel able to face bad news if I have to. It's been inspiring and informative, so thanks everyone.

Ok so I'm now 7 months into treatment for a wild type metastatic GIST and it has been a long 7 months.
How it started: In July 2016 I had a MRI scan on my bowels and a colonoscopy because I had been having stomach cramps for around 3 years. Shortly after I went to see the gastro doctor who told me all was fine. Few! That's a relief! Or so I thought! Happy days of discovering there were no nasties in my bowels were short lived wehn he proceeded to tell me that the MRI had caught a small section...
Saw this in the garden this morning. It was there last night too but with its wings spread. It was totally still and we'd thought it was dead. Obviously not as today it's in a differentposition. A beautiful creature. Good luck to anyone with treatment or results today.
After the tribulations - a calm last week ahead of 4th rchop next Tuesday
Good health - even managed a gentle circuit at circuit training last night
Bowels behaving - and not so tired
So gird up my loins for next chemo with fingers crossed
I believe I am due a reassessment after 4th chemo session - bated breath
Well I've stopped worrying about the appointment on Monday. I keep forgetting Southmead Hospital is brand spanking new and built to deal with future capacity. This is why I'm lucky enough to get my treatment quickly. I don't know what my results will be but I'm determined not to worry unless there is something to worry about. I'm expecting my turbt scab to start shedding any day now. Is it noticeable when it starts? Or is it small bits? I find myself peering down the loo looking for things. ...
Cycle #3 has not been so bad physically as the previous 2 cycles. I stopped taking the drugs after 3 days and didn't feel nauseous after that.
However the ill period lasted longer - about 10 days. Just yucky. As the week went on I became depressed and very low emotionally. I really thought I was going to die. I kept telling myself life wasn't really that bad, it was just the effect of the drugs and yes, lo and behold, I've snapped out of it as the physical effects have finally gone and I feel...
