Another not very flattering picture of me but one that shows the healing process close up and how good the scars look. This was taken in June 2017 on holiday in Cyprus.
I haven't driven for years and my husband Peter is my car driver. We have gone down the same road and round the small roundabout and long the road to the A10 so many times but now the route has different significance. The route leads to the North Mid Hospital.
I have increasing awareness of the houses, flats, shops trees, traffic, traffic lights taking on new significance. We turn right and pass the school, often parents and children crowding the pavement, cars double parked and..... carry on a bit further...
Well there I am day 5/6 of treatment; (yesterday 29/1/18) thought this chemo was a piece of cake! How wrong am I??? I have got up this morning and just feel awful. I really can’t explain how I feel, no energy, my mouth and tongue feel strange, I’m crying and just now realise this is what I’ve got for the next few months. I have been so positive since diagnosis, I suppose, as I didn’t feel ill, it has all been a bit surreal until today! Now I just want it all to go away and wonder if I’m going to...
Wondering where I will be in June, 6th round. This round is easier than the firdt.
The patch for nausea calmed things down, just not having nausea and having those pills to remember.
I learned to use a checkerboard to arrange my meds each morning. Start at top, one row going down for each added med (3). Take the one that is AM only, put it back. Take the Prednisonr, take out 5 pilks, lay them out down the row, take one. Last one Amitiza is AM and PM. Take it, then move the bottle to...
Just heard that I have been allocated to have chemotherapy. Could be that I am in control group or the prosigna test showed a higher risk. I'm sort of relieved that the choice has been made for me.
So I start FEC-T on Monday next week. I have a 3 hour pre-assessment on Friday but no idea what that entails.
Next step is organising a wig because I can't stand those headscarves.
I am worried about the effect on my blood sugar and my diabetes. I have been prescribed rapid...

Anti-nausea patch MUCH better. No nausea. Addition of Amitiza a super thing to regulate trips to bathroom.
Cooked a meal today. Eating better.
Hi all I'm new to this. Was diagnosed lung cancer 3 days before xmas. Have managed to keep myself together and soldier on. Am awaiting op to remove tumor. But I find all this waiting is the most hardest time of all. Anyone else the same?
Hi , I'm asking for advice and joining this forum and really don't want to ! My lovely gorgeous mum has been diagnosed with lung cancer before xmas . Had a bronchioscopy just after and also pet scan . She saw an oncologist on Wednesday and they said stage 3b but still waiting for results as to what treatment from Birmingham . Why is it taking so long and can I pay to speed results up as she's deteriorating so fast ? I love her so much and she's my best friend and I can't cope with seeing her so poorly...
Hi my name is David and I was diagnosed with kidney cancer December 2015.
It was a scary start to finding out.
First time I knew anything was wrong is when I went to the toilet and passed a lot of blood. I had no pain at this stage so had no idea what it could have been. I went to the doctor and he said it was probably kidney stones so I went home. Still passing blood I was waiting for the pain from the stones. About two days later I experienced the worst pain imaginable. I was sick and couldn...
