Found Positive Lady but where is everyone else?

I feel like I'm in the sea and I cannot swim (no really!  I can't swim) I think I am suffering from what my husband calls Instruction blindness.  I know if I ask for help or actually READ THE INSTRUCTIONS I will find Gary, Esme, Jen, Ann, Ribbsie and everyone else?

    Lost my sister unexpectedly

Had a sad phone call on 2nd September to tell me one of my sisters had died. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on 28th July but decided not to tell anyone until she knew how to but she was admitted to hospital on 25th August so none of us knew until it was over. Great shock, went to the funeral last Monday and, as funerals go, it was quiet and dignified. Seems strange to think I can't just pick up the phone anymore. Glad it was quick for her and her treatment in hospital was, apparently, second...

    Getting back to 'normal'

How many times are people going to ask me if I am 'back to normal' yet?

If they mean am I back to being the old me, that's obviously silly as having cancer and treatment has changed one's body and outlook.

How does one get the old perspective back eg. assuming one was going to be enjoying getting a bus pass and maybe even becoming a Granny.

You can't even look at your medical exemption card and wonder if you can outlive it.

Perhaps they mean have I recovered my sense of...

    First radio.............
First radio............. Submitted by Pecantim on Mon, 14/09/2009 - 21:26. Thanku so much for all your good wishes for today. I was ok about going this afternoon and was amazed at how quick and simple it all was. One thing i was surprised at though, i got given the next 24 appointments and they are all over the place, some really late approaching 7pm and some as early as 7.30am! Gosh, i will have to keep my wits about me a bit :-) I am pleased to say that i have managed to get free parking for my...

    Good news - long overdue!
Hi all, today we went for the results of my partners halfway ct scan, and the news was good! Shrinkage in all areas-the bowel tumor markedly so, so the plan is to give 2 more cycles of oxi and 5fu, then a break followed by another scan then-who knows? So why then is he in so much pain? Over the last 3 days he has been experiencing considerable pain in his bottom which even the morphine is not shifting-if the tumor has shrunk why this pain? Tols the oncologist and she didnt seem overly concerned...

    dealing with feelings
I have joined this site to talk to others who have had cancer. I've realised that although I have excellent support from my partner, I want to know how other people feel in a similar situation to me. I had a small tumour, with no spread to the lymph glands so the future looks good and I'm lucky. My treatment is finished , surgery (lumpectomy) and radiotherapy and I'm now on tamoxifen. I've been feeling ok these last few months, getting over the fatigue from the radiotherapy, but I have not returned...
