Good news - long overdue!

Less than one minute read time.
Hi all, today we went for the results of my partners halfway ct scan, and the news was good! Shrinkage in all areas-the bowel tumor markedly so, so the plan is to give 2 more cycles of oxi and 5fu, then a break followed by another scan then-who knows? So why then is he in so much pain? Over the last 3 days he has been experiencing considerable pain in his bottom which even the morphine is not shifting-if the tumor has shrunk why this pain? Tols the oncologist and she didnt seem overly concerned. Is it true that when a tumor shrinks it can cause pain? Any advice welcome, Take care, Julie x

    Hi Julie

Cannot remember if I replied to your latest, I thought I had?  Could the pain be due to the shrinkage of the tumour?  We went to a Stoma afternoon at our hospital last Monday and the Doc showed us slides of the bowel ops and colostomies.  He said that there can be adhesions around the area and if the tumour is attached then maybe it is pulling?  No idea what I am talking about, just a guess.  Could you possibly ask someone?  We have a meeting tomorrow with the Surgeon who did Peter's tumour in April just to clarify some things so might broach this very subject!

    Speak again soon.
