Had a sad phone call on 2nd September to tell me one of my sisters had died. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on 28th July but decided not to tell anyone until she knew how to but she was admitted to hospital on 25th August so none of us knew until it was over. Great shock, went to the funeral last Monday and, as funerals go, it was quiet and dignified. Seems strange to think I can't just pick up the phone anymore…
