    My lung Cancer

Hi there. You can see from my profile that I have only my left lung remaining and that has a form of cancer that here in Spain they call adenocarcinoma broquioloalveolar recidivado. The result is that I am extremely short of breath and it is getting worse month by month. Is there anybody out there who has any detailed knowledge of this type of lung cancer and who can offer me any adivice as to the progression of this disease?

Is this my last New year?

I decided to write this blog as, like most of us with cancer, I'm not sure whether it will be my last christmas and new year.

Last year I was in remission and we had a busy time over the holiday period as my son and his family came over unexpectedly from LA.  We had all our family down on one day and all hers on the next.  My next check up showed my CA 125 count had gone up considerable, so I started chemo agin in April, and eventually had what was supposed to be the last in Nov, but on going...

    2010 another year begins

I have been battling my cancer for the last five years, I feel that this has held me back from really living and I am so annoyed with myself.  Five years is a long time and I should be grateful that I have been given this time.  I am terminally ill but still well enough to work and get about and supposedly have fun.  I am writing this blogg in the hopes that is will help me keep my new years resolution which is to live like a normal person.  I am single and feel that no one would want to be with me because...

    Bertiebassett. 2010

Well despite me not wanting it to arrive it's here. I can't sleep again Bert has been asleep since we came back from Haematology at 5pm yesterday. Because we went to the Panto on Wednesday he was exhausted. he has woke up twice for a cup of tea and fallen asleep before I have finished making it.

They Consultant seems to think that he will need a transfusion so he will need to go in on Sunday if that is the case.

Confusion and agitation is still a problem, The confusion I think is made worse...

A new year - an uncertain time

I write my first post of 2010 wondering what the year ahead will bring.  I know my cancer has the upper hand in this battle but I haven't given up hope, despite rather bleak words from my consultant.

This whole journey has been a mind-changing experience beyond anything I could have imagined.  Thinking about everything in a new light and cherishing every day that I am blessed with to see my two little girls and my loving wife.

I see the beauty of nature through different eyes - through the...

  • so many things in my head that I just can't sleep!
I really am having trouble sleeping tonight...too many things to think about!!

    Hi everyone.

I've been an occassional 'lurker' on the board for some time, but I'm not a very chatty person...well,I am in a room full of friends, but I'm nervous of people I don't know, but tonight I'm just hoping to offload this 'stuff' that's going round in my head and keeping me awake!

A brief note about our situation.Although my sign-in name is 'Denswife',we are not actually married...not in the eyes of the UK law.

Den and I met on a dating site...

    2010???

    Oh dear

I have just seen my first blog and its looks so depressing, sorry!!!

Normally can control myself better than that. So lets start again...

Lets hope 2010 brings hope, comfort and peace to all of the Macmillan community.

Beware the black dog of depression, as my Lab would say...if she could.
