I am complety baffled about our oncology appointment today. Three weeks ago I said to David I don't think we need it and suggested we cancelled it, he said we should keep it as they may be give us some further information. This morning David said I guess the appointment this afternoon will be a waste of time, I told him I said that three weeks ago.
Anyway we went expecting them to say we won't need to see you anymore. Not so.
When we arrived there was a form for bloods, which considering...
arrived at hospital at 12 miday as requested...finally got seen my plastic surgeon at 4.30! op went ok...have to see gp surgery nurse in 1 week to make sure it looks ok and then back to melanoma clinic in 3 weeks for the result... which if course is the worst part... thank you jeff for picking me up from the hospital and taking me all the way home...and thank you everyone for the positive thoughts...

Guess I must have run over a robin,. Those who read the previous blog will know I planned a meal and a drink for Saturday, before my chemo started Tuesday (tomorrow). Well talk of all luck being bad, I had to spend Friday and the next 2 nights in hospital due my Diverticulitis playing up and was drugged up on Tramadol and Morphine while being boosted on antibiotics. Well i'm finally back home now and they still say they can do my chemo along with the treatment for my Divertic. I'll have a small libation...
Another milestone on this journey has now been reached as my tumor was removed last Tuesday. The surgery took a little longer than they'd hoped due to adhesions in some areas; the areas around the the blood vesels were particularly tricky as it began to break apart and it had reached the sciatic nerve too which prolonged things a little. Certainly my main question at my post op appt tomorrow is whether they actually mangaged to remove it all as I wasn't confident given their description and was...
Tired, muted and neither here nor there - might be a good way to describe the way I feel at the beginning of this new week. Doesn't everything take so much time? Or perhaps it's us, when we're sick and forget that hospitals are dealing with SO many others who are all waiting for results.
We want things DONE and we want them NOW! That's normal.....we'd like to have everything done and dusted within a few days and know where we stand with our lives - in reality it doesn't happen like that...
OK, so I got to the hospital about 15 mins early - no mags to read and I am so fed up with cancer I wasn't going to get any of the well-read leaflets down AGAIN...
Just after 3pm, I heard my name and looked around to see my BCN. She came up to me and said
"I didn't know if you would come - I thought that even if you did that you would ask for another BCN and I am sorry about the way the phone call went and what I said - I shouldn't have"..... I just stopped in my tracks and gave her a hug and said...
Appointment on Friday at 3pm for hospital post-op silly bra fitting, wound and drains check..and hopefully results - though I'm not holding my breath. Will also find out when chemo will begin and when I can start the transfer to Southampton, I hope.
Feeling low and sore, of course, up and down periods all day long. Miss my boy like crazy, it's been almost two months now and I should have been making my plans abut my return to life in India - and the study visa - but they have gone askew right...
Home yesterday afternoon. Sore, achey and right-boob-less, but it will come ok in the end. Just need to rest up a little now!
Thanks for the love and prayers...
