    Radiotherapy Mouth/Jaw advice please

I have posted in the forums too so please excuse me doubling up but I really want to try and get as much advice as possible.  My blog is not about me today but my lovely nan who has just had 2 high dose radiotherapy treatments to her mouth/jaw.  She was diagnosed a few weeks back with low grade lymphoma which has presented in her mouth.  I just wondered what things I could get her that she might need and what to expect over the coming days/weeks.

    Anything tis appreciated

Buying shoes when your feet are different sizes.

Life may be a bowl of cherries, as the saying goes, but it seems I always stand in the line of fire when someone spits out the pips. I was wandering about today looking to buy a pair of shoes because this dammed CHF thing has caused edema, especially on my left foot, and until the diuretic tablet does it's job and reduces the effect I now have a size 9 and a size 10 and a bit. To start with my feet were different inasmuch as I have a higher instep on my left, so on the bread falling butter side down...

Rebel no more.! (I remembered what no 3 was!)

If you read my first post, you will know I forgot number 3. Just remembered it so before I forget again... here it is.

I have always been a bit of a rebel and was a bit of a naughty so and so when younger- never hurt anyone or nasty, but lets just say I had a bit of mis-spent youth. As I have physically grown up (mentally lagging behind somewhat) most of my vices have trailed off and I became more of a good girl..to the point of dull! especially being a teacher meant toning down the silly hair...

    Infection

After my 1st & 2nd chemo I got an infection resulting in a stay in hospital 7 days & 1 night/day respectivly.  I am now approaching that crucial weekend after having my 3rd chemo last Wednesday.  I am feeling good and determined to try and get through this weekend without ending up in hospital!

stream of rubbish rather than consciousness...!

Well, who would have thought me writing a blog.. mind you who would have thought a lot of things.....!

Finished treatment and waiting and waiting now (another 2 weeks to go) for my gorgeous consultant (and boy, is he gorgeous!) to stick his finger up where the sun don't shine and see if he can feel anything. Such advanced science!  Then another month for a scan.... then??

I guess normally I am one of the silly irreverent ones, but some days things  go round and round in your head- I don't want to...

To all the people I’ve spoken to and made friends with on this site.
Well I’d like to thank you all very much for what you have done for me. To the special few that have my contact details and have helped me so very much, I just couldn’t have done it without you, I’m so very grateful and I hope we keep in touch. Sorry, but it’s time for me to move on selfish I know, but for me it’s what I have to do to survive this. I can’t think of any other way to do it. ...
