I received a letter today from the Phase 1 Trials, based at the Christie under Prof. M. Ranson. I am going to see them on the 18th January to find out more.
By the way, the steroids did nothing for my cough. I did add 6lbs on in 4 days and I've not bothered looking at my weight since!
I'm having stereotactic radiation therapy tomorrow.....to blast the brain tumour...
I've read up about the actual procedure and possible side effects....but what i haven't really had chance to think about...( and definately not talk about) is that I'm scared....and worried....
I keep seeing pictures of '' one flew over the cuckoo's nest''...............!

2012 will hopefully be a year of new starts, new job and buying our first house together. It has also brought the realization that my cancer journey no longer started last year. It feels really strange not being able to say this time last year I was blissfully ignorant that cancer was invading my body, this time last year I was having this test, operations, walking on crutches etc, etc, etc and even more bizarre to think I am well on the way to celebrating my second anniversary.
Time continues regardless...
6.1.12. Dad had CT scan to see if Sutent working on kidney cancer tumours, lung tumours and brain tumour (history: had one kidney removed 15 years ago with no further treatment since then till Sept of this year when started Sutent because kidney cancer returned to site of where kidney taken, on remaining kidney plus two tumours on lungs and one on left side of brain - which caused mild stroke in April 11). About to start 4th cycle of Sutent (37.5 rather than 50mg cos couldn't cope with 50 dosage...
Here we are back on the journey with a busy week of three visits to hospital. Oncologist tomorrow, then three days of special urine collection and back on Friday for more blood tests. Next Monday is the next injection. It is a 400 mile round trip each time but we get very good treatment and the car now knows it's way lol.
Overall I think he has been a little better this week but his sugar level are flying all over the place, so that is one to go on the list of things to ask tomorrow. We find...

Went to the doctors as I had been having breast pain for a couple of weeks (not hormonal) and thought it was probably cysts again which I suffered from quite badly about 6 years ago.
Lovely male doctor and for once sympathetic to the pain (unusual I know) who put me on urgent to attend the breast clinic at the hospital.

For the last however many days I've been trapped within the walls of the hospital... again. They said I had some sort of infection, but the source couldn't be found - they whacked me on a heap of drugs and things seem to be (slowly) on the mend again. I guess I just got lucky this time.
This hospital trip made me think about the future... I can only imagine that this is what it's going to be like from here on in. Hospital stay after hospital stay. I felt like I had to get familiar with...
It's a full-time job being me. I feel amazing after a nice swim. A little ruined by inconsiderate breaststrokers choosing to swim in the fast lane. I still cannot understand what goes through a person's head as they deliberately choose to swim at snails pace right in front of someone they know is going to be at least twice as fast swimming crawl. Two people swimming crawl in one lane, three people in the adjacent lane swimming breaststroke and somehow a new breaststroker ends up choosing the fast...
As I go into Round three on Monday I do feel scared so I have been busy tidying the house and clearing out my wardrobe, washing everything down to help my Immune System. I hope they can keep the sickness under this time. http://rayandmave.wordpress.com/
