The Widow Vibe: why you might want to tidy more than the sock drawer; and the trouble with Monica.

One of the universal truths about human beings – and we are not shy of universal truths here - is that some people are very much better at ‘tidying’ things than others.

When faced with a major change in life (like a terminal diagnosis) some of us will immediately reach for sock drawer and begin the long task of corralling those maverick socks and reuniting them with their long lost partners.    We might then discretely burn the odd embarrassing letter and delete some...

    Protocols for Lung Cancer

Hi can anyone from the Carlisle area tell me what the protocol on treating Lung cancer is. My sister said she has been told she has lung cancer but will not get an MRI for another 2 weeks I was under the impression that an MRI was a diagnostic factor in these cases. I would appreciate your input. IF it is true that she has this then 2010 has been a hell of a year for me

  • The long and short of it
    Well, here goes!

Hey there everyone, I hope you're well.

I've recently signed up to the MacMillan site and am very new to all this blogging! In truth, I'm not sure what I'm hoping to share or indeed to get from it...like-minded support, advice, validation that I'm not losing the plot...or maybe all of the above!

The abridged version of the situation is as follows:

Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago and had a mastectomy, lymph nodes from under her arm removed, a course of IV...
