Today I had my histology results  followup after my operation appointment.

My surgeon is a man of few words to say the least, he looked as enthralled to be there as much as I did.

The good news is I am stage 1a grade 1 No further treatment pathway required.

It was in the polyp they removed initially in my uterus  was cancer cells and pre cancerous cells too. It hasn't spread into any other part.

I am on a 3 year watch instead of 5 but will see him in one month from now, just due to recent complications with bleeding.

He isn't concerned and feels that my physical recovery will just take longer due to this.

I asked about checks on bones due to menopause and I was told to take a calcium supplement.

I have no idea how I feel Tbh.

I should be over the moon. I am very grateful for my good results . It seems such a crazy few months...diagnosis,  covid,  operation and all done. Just like that. I don't think it has settled in and won't do for sometime

Once the physical recovery is on its way, then the mental acknowledgement and going forward in life is essential.

Hope you are all keeping well given circumstances,  pandemic and now snow!!! Xxxx

  • That is absolutely brilliant news that it has been caught So early. I’m so pleased for you. Hope your recovery goes smoothly from now on. Xxx

  • This is exactly the same as me apart from the bleeding no further treatment I should of Bein soo happy but I wasn’t i felt lost! Am doing ok now nearly 10 weeks on it’s a Strange feelingxxx

  • Oh Birdie22

That's really great news, I'm so pleased for you.

Isn't it strange the way some people seem to feel as if they're in a vacuum after a good result? Instead of great whoops of joy, you've gone back to the numbness we all felt at the start of our journey. It might help to take a look at Life after Cancer Forum. There'll be others with whom you can share your feelings.

Sending you congratulatory Hugs, Barb xx Hugging

  • Hi Birdie,

That's super news. Just carry on with your life now. xxxx.

  • Dear Birdie22,

so pleased to hear your news. I found that the diagnosis of cancer changed my life. I did the MacMillan HOPE course 3 months after surgery, I needed to try and make sense of it all. I have found the support offered by MacMillan and other cancer operations really helpful.

Take care as you continue on your recovery.

    Best wishes and big hugs,
