I underwent chemotherapy for endometrial cancer in 2022. Chemotherapy can be challenging at times so please reach out for support if you need it. Happy to answer any questions.

Hi, I had it with day 1 of my radio last week, for me 1 hour hydration, etc by drip, then 2 hours cisplatin, followed by another 1 hour hydration..
Still a little nausea, have some drugs, but other than that and being tired at times, I’m doing OK so far, I started on Weds last week.
I am on 6 rounds of Paclitaxel and Carboplatin. I get the infusions on Day 1 of the cycle and then have 3 weeks to recover before it starts over again. The first two cycles included Benedryl (antihistamine) and more steroids in the IV bags. Those infusions took about 6 hours to complete. The last two infusions took maybe 4 1/2 hours because I don’t need the Benedryl. I get Emend and Ondansetron in pill form the day of the infusion and Emend the next 2 days. I believe they are steroids and other things that control nausea.
My worst side effects were very sore knee joints on day 3 and 4. I take Tylenol to help with that. I got tingling in my hands which got worse each cycle. The Oncologist lowered the Paclitaxel by 20% and that seems to have greatly improved the effects on my hands. I have ringing in my ears which is likely from the Carboplatin. I am going to get a hearing test tomorrow to see what impact this had on my hearing. I have an infusion on Friday and another one on Feb 28. After that I get a month off before starting radiation therapy if I decide to do it. I was worried about bad nausea but have escaped it so far.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
