  • Hi

Are you asking about buying critical illness cover or claiming on a policy you already have?

  • I was thinking of claiming critical illness on a policy I have as I am on only sick pay which isn't the best

    Thanks

  • As different insurers have different criteria, your best bet would be to dig out your policy document which should then tell you if you are covered. If you're not sure if you can claim when looking at the policy, or can't find the paperwork, then give the insurer's helpline a call and they should be able to tell you if you can make a claim.

  • Hi Red scouse

I had full thyroidectomy and left neck dissection almost two years ago. After the surgery and recovering I happened to speak with someone who had gone through the same thing. It was she who suggested to check if I had critical illness cover and if so what the policy actually covered as wording can be a nightmare. I knew I had cover but was unsure about it and nearly didn’t contact them. So glad I did as I was covered and they asked my hospital etc for details. Took a few months but all got sorted. Good luck with yours and remember if you’re paying for a policy such as critical illness you hope you’ll never need it but grateful that when it pays out. Let me know how it goes xxx

  • Thanks very much I'll let you know how I get on

    Cheers

  • Thanks for the advise I have called the insurers they are going to send me a claims form

    Thanks
