Appointment days....?

I was supposed to have my the second stage of my cycle today. I'm on 3 day BEP adjuvant chemotherapy. I had my first three days last week, and I was booked in to treatment today. I went for my blood test, saw the specialist/oncologist to give the go ahead for treatment....I sat in the waiting room for two hours, there were two people in there who were sat in there for a longer time than me. But I was the last person in there....turns out I wasn't booked in, no drugs available as everyone had gone home. I was so worried about this appointment, I just want to get things over and done with. Now I have to wait over the weekend to see what's going on!

Is the treatment dependent on giving the drugs on certain days?

Very despondent right now!

  • Hi . I just dropped by and noticed you've not yet had a reply to your post as yet. How awful for you, did they not offer any explanation of how that had happened? I've a different type of cancer and not had chemotherapy but I can imagine how hyped up you must've been! Especially if you've made a long journey to get there. It might be a good idea before you set off next time and double check you're booked in - you shouldn't have to I know. Hopefully others here in the group will be along to reply soon.

I've sat in waiting rooms before now for ages waiting to be called to see my consultant wondering if I've been forgotten as no-one else's about and it's like a genie from a bottle -  they suddenly appear!

All the best with the rest of your treatment, sending hugs, Bxx

  • Thanks for the reply, the other "pre chemo" appointments went ahead as planned, so to be told that if I had come up earlier they might have been able to sort something was disappointing, as I was told I wasn't going to be forgotten about. I had arrived on time, checked in on time, asked to wait for my name to be called, but no one called it. I just sat there for two hours, the receptionist left and said that they do know about me. Just very disheartening. Losing faith!

    Appreciate the reply. Pray

  • Don't lose faith, we've got to be positive! TBH our NHS is wonderful but when it's us that fall through the cracks it sucks!

    Hugs, B xx
