Dear All,
I'm new to this group. I found out i had a large gynaecological tumour on the 6th of February when I was admitted short of breath, with my right lung full of liquid. The treatment I have received from the NHS has been fantastic, and I cannot thank them enough. I have not been able to work since, and I am undergoing treatment so that I can have a second surgery to remove my tumour and complete a hysterectomy (the first surgery was unsuccessful, because the situation was far more complicated than they thought.
My friends and family have been extremely supportive, but i would like to connect with the macmillan community to gain strength and insight from patients with similar issues
Hi 1976Embryo
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.
My name is Steve and I am one of the community champions. My experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma.
Janice ended up having an emergency hysterectomy however at that stage while the doctors beleived she had cancer it was not actually diagnosed untill some time later after a biospy from a lymph node. They found she had quite a lot of secondaries in her lungs. After two round of chemo they managed to render her cancer stable and we have lived with that happy state for over 10 years now.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Thank you Steve, I appreciate you sharing your wife's journey.
