Hi all,
i have been diagnosed with stage 3 soft tissue sarcoma and after several months of radiation, i started chemotherapy. I am fairly new to all this and was wondering what chemo you had/having and frequency of it?
Thanks everyone
Hi Doxorubicin
Janice's first line treatment was doxorubicin and while it was quite effective there was an unfortunate side effect.
They managed to fix things up and then tried Gemcitabine and that knocked the cancer back a bit but has also rendered her cancer stable - so much so she has not needed any more active treatment for 6 years now.
<<hugs>>

Hi, I had small bowel cancer stage 3 ten years ago and had a right re section and had adjuvant chemotherapy. I was recently sent for a follow up ct scan as I had kidney surgery last year for kidney stones. Unfortunately my ct scan came back with abnormalities in my lung and pelvis. I’m going for a biopsy Friday as my surgeon thinks it’s a very late presentation for recurrence of bowel cancer although he’s not ruling it out. He mentioned he thinks I may have different cancer and he mentioned sarcoma. I have never heard of sarcoma. Looking for some information if you have any.

chemo can be tough but if it works it’s worth it.
good luck with the treatment
Hi I am starting on these two drugs next week so will be interested to see if they help you. Is it. Dry tough? I’m dreading it as I feel well now but know I have got to start as the mets are in my liver. I could only have a few months if I don’t have the chemo.
Hi I had a undifferentiated pleomorphic soft tissue sarcoma in my breast .I found it end of march try saying that when your drunk lol I had amasectomy end of may. Then 6weeks radiotherapy. I'm under the royal Marsden and they don't tend to do chemo for it as it often does not work . Touch wood mine is gone and my first ultra sound was clear. Next one end of January. They will monitor me every 3months for first 2years as high risk of coming back .then every 6months .I feel lucky which sounds mad when you say it because I was treated so quickly. I am just getting on with life. Back to work trying to have a normal life. Whatever that means. I try not to think about it and most of the time I don't.but it never quite goes away even when it's gone. I wish you all the best with your treatment and pray that it works for you xx
