This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic. It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.
It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.
I could have named it 'Waffle'. Then I couldn't go off topic.
I think, with climate change, people living in the hotter Med countries will be migrating to the more northern and cooler European countries to get shelter from the heat in the future. Who knows, even our rain in the UK might suddenly be what people want?!!!!

Hi Eddie,
Your garden sound like an oasis.
Jacob says he will happily share the recipe of the apple cake but need to translate it to English. He said it is a simple recipe and easy to make so when it is translated I will message it to you. I will need to learn how to message!
Lots of love

Quick update. Just before I went to Wells with my girls and grandchildren, R had a fall in his office after I had gone to bed. He prefers to sit there for some time instead of going straight up. However, as I am shattered most nights I go up about 10.30. I woke at 1.30 and noticed landing light on, so I went down to find him sat in the corner of his office on the floor. Couldn't move him so made a bed with some duvets and a pillow and left him till morning. When I got down, as he had been in the same lying position, he had stiffened up and so I called 999. They came out quite quickly when they realised he had been on the floor for such a long time. It is called a Long Lie, meaning that being on a hard floor for a long period can cause toxins to pool in the body and then when sat up, can affect the kidneys and heart. My mum died after such a long lie but as he had bedding, it did not occur to me that it was a problem.
Anyway, I knew he was again dehydrated and when the paramedics arrived, they were concerned about him and took him off for another stay in hospital. They were concerned that he had fast AF as well as dehydration. I spent the week in Wells as planned and collected him on the Friday on my way home. He has been warned about not drinking enough of the right fluid and was told if he didn't, he would end up back in hospital, which of course, is what happened.
Fast forward a week at home, and he is now back in hospital again. On the Saturday morning, having only had a week of my cooking, he had a stroke. His face had dropped on one side, couldn't stand and was slurring. We (I now have a carer for him in the mornings) went in and found him lying across the bed. It appears it was only a minor stroke but he now needs rehab yet again before he comes home. So my afternoons are spent driving to Peterborough hospital, spending 15 mins to find a space, seeing him for an hour, and then sitting in a queue to get out of the campus for half an hour!!
So there it is, another chapter in my constantly changing life. Oh, forgot to mention. Just to add to all the excitement of living in Rutland, it transpired that we have a cannabis farm next door!! I have been warning the landlord, my late neighbours daughter who bought the house, that there was something going on and she should investigate. However, last Thursday, after Richard thought there was someone breaking into our house and that there were lights everywhere, I found out from a neighbour that the house next door had their door smashed. Thinking it was an attempt here, and more successful next door, I called the police. House full of cannabis plants and "gardeners" scarpered but they have now been caught. There ain't a dull moment in this ere sleepy county!!
