9 years ago today, I received the news that my PSA was high and that I had Prostate Cancer.  I was in shock and very confused. Last year I wrote a post on here which described the early days of that journey The end - straight to palliative care! .  It was aimed to help those who have been newly diagnosed with PCa, understand that things do get better once you know the plan.   If you are newly diagnosed and feel overwhelmed, can I suggest you have a read and I hope it helps.
All of the contributors on this site have been where you are now.  We can’t go against medical advice, but the experience gained during each individual journey is priceless.  The more info you provide about your diagnosis, the better feedback you will receive.  Feel free to ask any questions (I haven’t seen many questions go unanswered). Lots of us record our individual diagnoses in our biography which you can read by clicking on a name or avatar.

  • Thank you for the encouragement David. Wishing you all the very best for the future.

  • Hi David,

And for those 9 years you have been a great help to many people.

Yours was one of the first biographies I read 2 years ago, when I was first diagnosed. I go back to it every now and again when I need encouragement.

Thank you for your encouragement, your plain speaking, and the attitude of calm that exudes from your posts.

    Steve

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • Thank you David (

A cracking post and thank you for the link - it's a great read.

4 years, 2 months and 24 days into my personal journey - so I have some catching up to do!

Thank you for all the work you do around the Community both welcoming new members, answering posts and giving helpful advice. Myself and Derek ( the two Community Champions who look after this little band of brothers and sisters spend far too much time on holiday so you are very much appreciated.

Here's to the next 9 years - wishing you many low PSA tests.

    Kind regards - Brian.
