Morning all

My latest deceptacyl injection is due Wed. The Wink pharmacy now tell me they can't get any.My oncologist secretary says use zoladex or prostap? Can I have prostap... after having been on it previously?I am ringing the surgery again tomorrow Upside down I ain't a happy bunny..  as it has taken me a month to find this out.

Thanks to the skill of the radiography consultant.I now know that it has spread....two small spots clavicle and thorax.Which in relative terms is good news. My psa is still rising but I know why...IThinkingon't have any pain but my consultant said if it isn't treated I would! So the good thing is my oncologist can now develop a treatment plan.I am starting on abiterone shortly....Will this help shrink Thinkinge spots ?Anybody who has experience of life Thinking on abiterone would be useful for me....I am aware of the side effects.

  • I was on Zoladex 3.5 years ago and put on aberiterone acetate (AA) at the same time. I’m still on zoladex but was taken off AA after 14 months.

My experience was good and the cancer was kept at bay with the PSA being the main check point.

it started to not work after a year that’s when Olaparib was swapped in and the AA was ended.

it works better on some people and my experience was good. I didn’t have any issues with tolerance so for me I thought it a good med.

    Good luck

  • Hello

Thanks for your post and I wish you well moving forward.

My pharmacy had issues getting my last Decapeptyl injection. When I said I would try a different pharmacy he pulled his finger out and suddenly found some. I have had no issues with these injections.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • My surgery provide me with a prescription to get my next Zoladex injection while I am having the previous one.

I already have the dose I am due to take at the end of May.

It is a practice that seems to work well.

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • When I was on Degaralix I always collected my following months from the chemist before I'd had that month's injection as I'd been let down once by a local pharmacy

  • I spent 2 years on Abiraterone, it's very effective PSA wise but caused me significant fatigue and brain fog. Your body will demand rest in unequivocal terms, I found it didn't help fighting it, and having a nap is the best way. Multiple naps a day kept me going through Abiraterone. Also, strength training is important and helpful.

    Hope this helps

  • It does thanks Blush I am like that now so I will be prepared my oncologist mentioned high BP any problems there ?

  • It didn't cause me any blood pressure issues. I was told it can affect potassium levels, so had a banana a day just in case.

  • I’ve been on Abiraterone for about 3 months - so, early days. The only issue so far was a brief sudden and dramatic leap in blood pressure which happened soon after I started on it and was probably linked, but is now controlled by an up in my medication. I was already on ramipril but now have a higher dose.

  • Thanks I will note that ...I have Relaxed had issues with BP because of diabetes. They aim,top figure, to get it down to below 140 which I am achieving.
