Was diagnosed with p.c.about a month ago .was advised to go on Active surveillance
Had
a gleason score 3+3 my p.s.a 5.5 with a 1cm tumour
Since being diagnosed I am finding it difficult to think about anything else
Everyday wondering whether to stay on a.s or ask for treatment
Also does the anxiety ease the longer your on Active surveillance pr
The other approach is to give AS a go and see how it goes.
Just make sure u have PSA every 3 months and keep all stats to look at any big increase.
Mine went up very slowly , say 5.0 to 5.3 in 3 months, my PSA was about 13 when treatment started.
The other thing is a yearly MRI, not any longer, to check on any size increase

Strength, Courage, Faith, Hope, Defiance, VICTORY.
I am a Macmillan volunteer.
4.8 then 4.7 then4.1. then 5.5 all over the last 2 year roughly 6 months between tests
So hardly moved then, I have read on here of some people on AS for many many years with PSA moving just slightly up.
Under those circumstances probably worth hanging on.
U could check the MRI tumour size, is it Def 1 cm and not mm, just to be sure, also check on location, if nearing gland edge.
If all ok, relax
Steve
