Does anyone know of any scientific evidence that drinking pomegranate juice is good for prostate cancer?
I have had the pure Pomegranate juice occasionally and it has been mentioned here before but I have not seen any evidence to say that it is beneficial although I am sure that it helps .
Along with tomato juice pomegranate juice are two of the best drinks to help combat this disease, low sugars in both though.
I drink pure pomegranate juice every day, have done since recurrence in 2016. I did stop during radiotherapy though. it is extremely high in antioxidants. Quite expensive at £3.70 per bottle but I will be continuing with it.
Just as good and a lot less in sugar etc, is the boxed pomegranate off the shelf and tomato juice, any of the stores sell it Tesco Sainsbury’s etc. Plus it’s a third or more of the chilled prices.
Thanks Joe, I’ll look out for that. Take care.
If you're looking for research here's a study from 2017 https://scholar.google.co.uk/scholar?as_ylo=2017&q=pomegranate+juice+and+prostate+cancer&hl=en&as_sdt=0,5#d=gs_qabs&u=%23p%3DY0UpY4qiod0J
When googling, I'd recommend going to Google Scholar as that enables you to find peer reviewed journals. From what I can see, the scientists think there could be something in it but are still working on getting conclusive proof.
