Penis pump

Hello there 

I had my surgery 22 months ago , I was given a pump soon afterwards.

I have used it along with the blue pills .The pump helps me to get larger ,but once I remove it , I am no longer able to get a satisfactory erection.

We are all very different in what we can or cannot  achieve ,and the various stages we are at .

I am going to have a review soon , so I am hoping something might be out there that could be suitable for myself.

I appreciate it's not a great deal of help ,but the one I use is SomaErect

I use a VED provided by the NHS and can get an erection capable of penetration using it.  The key is to get a rubber penis ring and place it on the outside of the pump tube.  Get the erection going, for me that is about 5 minutes of applying the pump; then slip the ring off the tube and around the base of your shaft.  I find my erection is good for about 15 minutes but will slowly get weaker.  The key rule is NEVER keep the ring in place for more than 30 minutes.  I tend to use this method about twice a month as it is uncomfortable but we still love the feeling.

There is an injection you can self-apply that will, in a lot of cases, get things hard.  I don't use this method as we are both a bit scared by the various rules around where to do the injection and the potential side effects.  It is worth considering this if you or your partner are prepared to stab the beast.

What we do use is a hollow dildo in a harness that I wear.  We find this a wonderful way to make love.  There is a fantasy element to it as you can get various sizes!  We have a dildo of average size and one that is that much bigger.

Before my surgery it was clear that I was very likely to be non-nerve sparing and it was highly unlikely I would ever have an erection again.  That proved to be true.  However, we discussed this and agreed that we would be positive and use this as a spur to explore all the alternative ways to make love and that has been the best thing we ever did.

I so hope you succeed in returning to a active love life!

I have not long taken delivery of a SomaErect pump via prescription and so it is still early days.  Having been on HT for a year I was noticeably shrinking and went down the rehabilitation route.  It is a strange process but one which does appear to be having some noticeable effects. Although libido and desire have long since departed the device has proven that the mechanisms still work!  However maintaining an erection is still the issue and I will shortly be taking the next step of using one of the many ring types provided with the pump to see if that works or not.  The rings look awfully tight so there’s a mental issue to overcome…

The process of obtaining a pump on prescription can vary apparently from region to region and take some time to get seen by the appropriate clinic- so my suggestion would be to start the process.  I emailed my CNS who then messaged the Andrology Clinic to get me on their list. I was then sent an appointment and seen by the SomaErect technician (not in a clinical way but by way of demonstration). I had previously filled in a comprehensive questionnaire about functionality at the time of my biopsy - which rendered scores of zeroes - and thus provided the necessary clinical information ahead of the appointment.

Krispy, thank you for the info. I will see if I can get a pump, starting with my oncologist, but expect that I will be referred to my GP. They are incredibly unhelpful, so I fully expect to have to purchase the device instead of getting one on prescription, With the replies I have had – those that stayed on the subject, that is – I intend to give the pump a try. This will be as much for my wife as for me as sex at our age is a togetherness thing.
