Hello I’m wondering if I could get some advice please. My Nana (94) has been diagnosed today with terminal pancreatic cancer which has also spread to her liver It is untreatable due to a heart condition she has. I was wondering what we should expect? Has anyone been in the same boat? She currently lives on her own and managing for now but she is in extreme pain and starting to struggle. Thanks x
Hello Alicia 864
I'm sorry to hear your news. Sadly, the great majority of people with pancreatic cancer cannot be treated as it is usually only found after it has spread. Symptoms can be very variable and pain is quite common. If your Nana hasn't been prescribed any pain killers then the best thing is for her to consult her GP as it can usually be controlled. Again it can progress in many ways but one symptom is not being able to get nutrition from food and an enzyme called Creon is often prescribed. Is she taking that? The main thing for you all is to enjoy each day as best you can.
