Morning all,
Bit upset this morning, I saw my Oncologist on THursday, who said I will be starting my chemo (pre surgery) within the next 4 weeks, I am so worried about the time scale. I had my first consultation on 6th January and we are now at 1st March! really panicking cos I am Stage 3 and so anxious about it spreading further. He said that they get cancellations which I may get, but I hate not having a start date. Has anyone else had to wait? it is horrendous all the time it takes between scans, biopsys and appointments for results. Please can someone help put my mind at rest. I have left a message with my CNS and I have my first support group on Tuesday.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.
Love
Hi Janet,
Hopefully ‘within four weeks’ is the absolute worst case scenario and your treatment will start a lot sooner than that. At my first appointment with my oncologist I was told that they would hope to start chemo within two weeks, but at my appointment the following week to sign the consent forms for treatment and he said, ‘we’ll start tomorrow’. It was a bit of a shock but so good to get things going. Fingers crossed that you get a start date very soon.
best wishes, Nell
