Hi, just started a third line of Chemo (carboplatin). Once again got really dry eyes and feeling of pressure in ears.Eye specialist confirms dry eyes.Had punctual plug put in last week. Optician could only get one in as tear ducts very small.
Has anyone else had this problem with carboplatin?
Been going on since 2016 and extremely uncomfortable. Eye lids seem swollen all the time and only relief is closing eyes.
Using various eye drops as prescribed but nothing helps.
Be grateful for any tips.
regards
Janet
Hello there,
I am from the womb cancer group 2015,so I don't come on her to much but having just read your post I thought I would reply as I to suffer from dry eye syndrome since having chemo.
My Optician suggested a mask that is available in Boots and you heat it in the microwave. You must do this on a regular basis otherwise it will not work.
I hope this helps.

Hi Georgette
many thanks for reply. Have been using heated eye mask itch lots of bathing and massaging.Hospital eye specialist recommended a local optician who offered a specialist treatment for Blepharitis which is not available on NHS.
He carried out the treatment and suggested punctal plugs. Could only fit one as tear duct so small.
Does not seem to have made much difference but just started chemo again so that won't help.
Hope you manage to find something that works.
Best Wishes
Janet
