Hi Everyone,
So after a couple of weeks of extremely dry mouth and sore throat, my Dr looked at my throat and said I have oral thrush. I always though it was white patches but apparently not all the time ,I have red soreness at back of throat around tonsils and beyond ,my tongue is showing signs of white right at back but is really dry , I'm picking up a prescription for fluconazole later hopefully this will work . Any other help would be appreciated. First time I've had this since treatment ended!!

Hi Spider3, thrush is an absolute nightmare to get rid, so don't despair if you need more than one course of treatment to get rid of it... I needed a couple of courses of fluconazole, and also nystan before I got it under control.. it is not an easy fix, just keep that in mind... be patient and you will get there.

Hi I’m at the last stage of 35 rounds of radiation (9to go) and was told last week I have Thrush after reporting very sore tongue. I have tonsil cancer. The team put me on Nystan and it’s been great after only a few days. I use it after eating and cleaning my teeth. One ml held in mouth for at least a minute, then swallowed. Almost instant relief. I have to use it four times a day. I hope yours settles down soon
Glad you have got some relief for the thrush that is great. Mine took 3 months to resolve but I am fine now so perseverance was definitely the key. I clean my mouth religiously after every meal now as I don't want a recurrence.
