I am about 10 weeks after treatment and pretty much the same as you. It is gradually getting better I think. My biggest problem is the swelling on my neck which looks horrible. I have been referred to the Lymphodaema clinic. Has anyone else had this problem?

A search I've done gives you quite a few ;posts about it LYMPHODEMA or LYMPHEDEMA depending on how you spell it

Hi Jules. I had lymphodema and found a fabulous therapist. I decided to go private as the NHS one didn’t give me much except a compression neck support. There is an excellent video on doing it yourself by the Lymphodema Support Network on youtube. You can also contact them and they will suggest a therapist in your area, which is what I did . I’m a year post now and I hardly have any swelling anymore. .

thank you for that- it’s very encouraging. I have an appointment at the Lymphodaema clinic next week and have started some massage myself but will look up on youtube today. Always helps to hear from someone else who has been through the same ordeal. I don’t think you are ever prepared for the aftermath of radiotherapy

Hi Jules, yep same as you! I had a neck dissection before my RT and one side of my jaw is still quite uncomfortable and sometimes painful also I have about 3 necks now due to lymphoedema which I massage each day. I brought a facial roller (rose quartz beauty set) from TKMaxx that really helps massage the area too.

I have a Jade roller which I am using regularly hoping to at least get the swelling down a bit. I am hoping it will improve

Massage and those rollers really do help.  I was also advised to purchase a neck gaiter which I found was excellent although expensive unless you can get a discount Comfiwave® Neck
