Hi quick post today was a day that in May 2018 I couldn’t have imagined. My last visit to say goodbye to my lovely oncologist Dr Sen at Leeds cancer centre. How do you say thank you to the man who saved my life. I was discharged last May by ent in Wakefield at the 5 year mark. Dr Sen has seen me yearly since 2018 so it was a bitter sweet moment. We chatted we laughed he’s retiring in June I’ve seen his son grow from 13 to 18 and starting university our grandson grow from 8 to 13 which in those dark early days I didn’t think I would see.
He’s sent a refferal to Leeds dental hospital for me so they can access my scans in case I need any extractions. He’s also written to my gp to ensure I will have a yearly thyroid check for life.
We hugged I wiped a tear away and left saying remember One life just live it.
Also today a big day James our grandson got his HPV vaccination. So just a reminder if you’ve teenagers boys and girls get the vaccine. Let’s help eradicate HPV cancers.
Hazel

That’s brilliant Hazel, so happy for you. You’ve been a godsend to me, with all your support and no nonsense excellent advice. I’m in my third year, I remember when I was first diagnosed, you said it was alright to sit on the floor in the middle of the night and cry, and I did a few times. I’m now back cycling doing triathlons, you said it would be a journey and it has, but you made it do much easier. So do pleased for you. Seems fitting you and your consultant ending the journey together. Wonderful pictures xxx
