Hello wonderful people , ulcers are starting to come any recommendations for a mouthwash please ? I have oralieve & biotene xx
I thought it was a mouth wash to be honest but you take it , not sure how it’s going to numb my mouth ,
Because it has local anaesthetic in it. The Oxetecaine bit.

Hi
My ulcers were hell. Made eating soups etc worse than thicker food I could eat on the other side. Jelly, creme caramel all better than liquid.
Oxetacine 30 mins before eating, Difflam 15 mins before did help though.
You can use the Caphosol 10 times a say if needed. That helped after eating.
Hopefully they'll give gelclair soon.
At one point I also skilled and spat soluble aspirin to ease mouth after eating. Too much other stuff to swallow and could affect reflux, but helped my mouth.
Hope something works x
Didn’t work for me either. Aly it’s probably time to use your peg for everythjng. From end of week 3 I was rotallyntube fed and all my water and medication went down it. That left me free if on a good day I could try to drink .But orally I couldn’t feed my self anywhere near enough calories or water.

They have prescribed me gelclair I will try that first & then go on to their supplements if I have too , my mouth doesn’t feel as fierce today as it was yesterday , I’m going to try soup & bread later , thanks Hazel xx
Hazel I’ve just used Gelclair so disappointed I thought I would have a decent dinner tonight but it’s just made my mouth( soft pallet) sting xx
Time to use that feeding tube, Aly
Its horrid what the treatment does but it fixes you in the long run.
