Hello
Today I was told I had cancer in my lymph node, and this is head and neck cancer. I am terrified. I am waiting for a date for a MRI and PET scan, so don’t know what type of cancer I have.
I know exactly what you mean. I have spent the night crying in my hotel room, thinking I’m going home I’m not going to compete today. Then I read all your messages and feel ashamed. For goodness sake there are people with far worse problems in life, and you are all so positive and encouraging. I need to get a grip and follow all the good advice xxx

Well I did it, and a lady next to me was a cancer survivor doing her first triathlon. I would have been wallowing in self pity if it wasn’t for this group. Looking forward to my MRI next week and I can take the first step x
