my partner is taking co-codamol not the very strong ones ..the 8/500mg.
they have given him 30/500 mg in case he needs them but at the moment he is fine .he finished his treatment 2 days ago..the nurse gave him some laxido to go through the tube to stop him getting constipated but he had one last night and it did not suit him at all ..acid coming up and sick. we dont see the nurse until monday (she wants to check the rad marks on his neck) i was wondering if there would be a reason i could,nt get pure prunejuice from amazon and use some of that through his rig ..does anyone know?
I would ask the GP if Movicol might be better.
Opiates cause constipation because they slow gut peristalsis. This is the wave like movement of the gut as the muscles constrict to move the waste matter along. You need something to stimulate this contraction, ie a laxative.
Prune juice is a stool softener so won’t have that effect

Did your husband have chemo recently?
If he did then 38degrees needs urgent medical attention. You should have an emergency phone number.
if he didn’t and it stays at 37.5 I would just keep an eye on it
