I was diagnosed with stage 4 base of tongue spread to lymph nodes. My tumour was 6cm so a hefty one! Treatment prescribed of 4 rounds of chemo (cisplatin and 5fu) followed by 6 weeks of chemoradiation.
The prognosis wasn't amazing but my oncologist said her aim was still to try and cure.
I have completed 3 rounds of chemo (my pretreatment!) and, against all odds, my last MRI results could not trace any signs of a tumour.
I am posting this because despite the prognosis, miracles do happen, so please don't lose faith. Take support and guidance and follow the regime. It works.

This is amazing. I’m so pleased for you It’s such a hard slog for everyone who goes through treatment. My husband goes for the results of his recent neck dissection later today. He’s already had chemo/radio Sending positives vibes to everyone going through treatment xx
That is such excellent news. So pleased for you.
