Hi folks
Hope you are all staying safe and keeping as well as you all possibly can. I've been a bit quiet on here for a while as Harry was unwell and spent nearly a week in hospital. Well he has been home a week now, treatment ( last chemo/Radio finished on Tuesday.
He's doing ok. Mucus seems to have subsided about 4 days ago . He had about 10 days solid of this. The nebuliser I purchased previously definately helped, as did the humifier - absolute godsend!! Pleased I already had these in thanks to advice of this group - especially Yoda !! Imagine trying to buy one now ??
He has also gone on to a night time feed refine which is brilliant, less stress for him. He's currently taking MST x 2 daily, Oramorph a couple of times a day with paracetamol if needed.
The past 2 mornings he's got up showered, teeth routine etc and felt so dizzy/drained he's had to return to bed and tends to get up late afternoon. I keep an eye on his bp and it does tend to drop a little which I'm sure is the cause. I'm not sure when we return for 1st check after treatment but believe it could be the end of next week ( 10 days) post treatment. I'm certain it will be a telephone conversation though - hopefully !
Keep safe everyone x
DEFINATELY up for a meet up.

Good to hear Lisa he got through his treatment just in time, I really do feel for anyone now in the middle of it or just starting; must be a nightmare.
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Hi Mike
Absolutely , been reading through some of the posts. There is so much uncertainty with all this going on. I know just last week when I was visiting Harry on the ward it was limited to only 1 hour ( it was an hour's journey to get there ) and had to be the same person for the whole of the duration of hospital stay. I believe they have stopped visiting altogether now.
Worrying times indeed
Stay safe
