Reduction in Radiotherapy Treatments.

Hi, My Radiotherapy has been reduced from 6 weeks to 4 due to this virus, plus no Chemo as this would reduce my immune system too much in respect of getting the virus.

I have a base of tongue tumor and lesions at the back of my throat. I'm worried that if I don't get the full treatment then this will reduce my chances of cure, my Head and Neck Cancer nurse said that she has the same concerns but that the doctor has said he thinks the chances are good. Stage 2 with no spread.

Don't know enough about the radio but I was told the chemo was just a mop in case anything had gone further than I take it the neck where I had radio, or in short I don't think you need worry about the chemo.

Shelly go with the consultant ,ive been in contact with people all over the world many don’t have chemo and not all have the same radiotherapy as we do and they’ve all had good results so far .maybe nurse should have kept her opinions to herself be guided by the consultant.They can tweak the radiotherapy

Thanks Hazel, the Consultant rang this morning to say the issue at the moment is whether the Radiotherapy will go ahead at all due this virus. He said last week that I had an 80% chance of cure and now I'm so worried about not getting treatment at all. I realise that things are bad and there's many fighting for their lives with the virus, fingers crossed that things improve.
