Hi everyone
I wondered if you get the mint free or mint flavour xylimelts?
I am going to try some from Amazon, 3 weeks done radiotherapy for stage 1, hpv16 lesion base tongue. My GP referred quite early & Kent & Canterbury reacted impressively to be honest with appt next day.
Had peg tube in yesterday (sore!!) altho still eating (mush!), and drinking at mo. Lost appetite thru stress tho! Very dry in night though and biotene not really helping. Has anyone tried gargling with baking soda??
Thank you
X

Hi Lisa,
Thank you, yes fingers crossed they are good.
Mine was T1, NO, MO but they do a lower dose/sterilisation radiotherapy on lymph nodes anyway like a belt & braces thing apparently.
Hope all goes well with your hubby. X
Wow totally impressed with speed of Tx
Soda bic and salt i found helpful
xylimelts need a little Saliva to work but sticking the tablet to your gum then taking a tiny sip of water to wet it often gets it going. I like both flavours

Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
Thank you. Yes I think I'll try soda bic too. Did you just rinse mouth or gargle? X
Hi
i only use the mint free ones as it was early days when I first started using them and my mouth was pretty delicate so avoided mint. Re bi carb n salt mix or baking powder I’ve used both please just gargle as to swallow it is pretty revolting.
I am niw 18 month post treatment for tonsil cancer and still use 1/2 a xyimelts every night they are a godsend to me anyway I now get 8 hours sleep with a few sips of water in night don't even wake up properly as my fit but doesn’t show awake time if that makes sense
good luck
